Tales That Witness Madness 1973 **

Clearly the weakest of the "Anthology" horror films. The first story was actually laughable , the 2nd slightly better, Joan Collins stars in the 3rd was enjoyable but again laughable, Voodoo story in the 4th was quite good and odd to see Kim Novak in this. Overall a waste of everyone's time because of a lazy script.

The Man Who Could Cheat Death 1959 **

One of the Hammer studio's weaker moments in the late 50's. Arnold Marlé is fantastic as the mentor scientist.

The Skull 1965 ***

Superb atmospheric film about a collector of witchcraft antiques who is haunted by the presence of a skull. One the better films to come out of the 60's British horror boom.

The 7th Voyage Of Sinbad 1958 ****

This film that kicked off the Greek mythology/ Sinbad series in association with stop animation legend Ray Harryhausen. One of the best in the series.

The Vampire 1957 ***

Solid low budget vampire tale. Copy of the Fly with scientist fusing bat blood with human. Collen Gray good.

The Return of Dracula 1958 **

Not good movie about tale of cursed gypsies

Witchcraft 1964 ***

Solid witchcraft british film with an old Lon Chaney looking tired. Good.

Devils of Darkness 1965 **

Just OK movie dealing with Vampires rather than witchcraft.

Hound Of The Baskervilles 1958 ***

Hammer Horror classic - Cushing awesome as Holmes. Solid all round.

Portrait Of Jennie 1948 ***

Very Good strange Ghost romance story.

Bride Of Frankenstein 1935 ****

Picks up where the original ended - basically pt 2 of the novel. A little goofy in parts (Frankenstein dancing & smoking) where i prefer it played straight but overall given it's time - very good.

Frankenstein 1931 ****

Had actually never seen this. As expected it was top notch.
Not much else to say - a must see.

Cult Of The Cobra 1955 ***

This is actually an effective little thriller with four soldiers stunbling on an ancient ritual not for outsiders. One by one they run into trouble. Very good.

THe Leech Woman 1960 **

I actually quite liked this film about the lust for youth. Basically a good Twilight Zone spread over 70min. Phillip Terry is great as the asshole husband.

The Deadly Mantis 1957 **

Some nice moments in the build up to finding the mantis but all in all, it's nothing you didnt see in "The Thing".

The Land Unknown 1957 *

Nothing in this cheap monster film.

Dr Cyclops 1940 ****

Very well made sci-fi / fantasy film with good effects for it's time. Great performance by Albert Dekker as Cyclops.

Tarantula 1955 ***

Surprisingly good  sci-fi from the 50's with Mara Cordal best on ground for acting. In bad need of a special edition of this .
